Rogozhnik, Lavrov discussed integration and upcoming BRICS summit

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Russian Federation, Aleksandr Rogozhnik, has met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. sb.by reports with reference to the Russian Foreign Ministry’s official website

Sergei Lavrov cordially welcomed Aleksandr Rogozhnik, who took over the post of head of Belarus’ diplomatic mission in Moscow in July.

In the warm and trusting atmosphere peculiar for the Russian-Belarusian allied relations, some topical issues of the bilateral agenda, as well as foreign policy co-operation and integration, were discussed, including the schedule of the upcoming contacts at the highest and top levels. They touched upon the preparation of a joint meeting of the boards of the two countries’ foreign ministries this year and the 2nd International Conference on Eurasian Security  – to take place on October 31st and November 1st in Minsk.

Special attention was paid to the upcoming BRICS summit in Kazan on October 22nd-24th.

“The mutual intention to increase Russian-Belarusian contacts through all channels has been confirmed, including with an eye to forming a new architecture of Eurasian security, as well as countering the sanctions and legal aggression of the ‘collective West’,” the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
