Lukashenko, Putin visited remarkable sights in Kronstadt
After the official part of the talks, which took place in the Konstantinovsky Palace, the presidents of Belarus and Russia together visited the remarkable sights in Kronstadt, BelTA reports
The heads of state first arrived at the Island of Forts Museum and Historical Park, where they were shown the main museum exhibit: the first Soviet nuclear submarine K-3 Leninsky Komsomol. It was delivered to the Museum of Naval Glory in Kronstadt from the Murmansk Region in autumn 2022.
Another venue on the presidents’ joint informal programme was a visit to the Stavropegic St. Nicholas Naval Cathedral in Kronstadt, also known as the Naval Cathedral of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. This Orthodox church is the last and largest of the naval cathedrals built during the times of the Russian Empire. It was built in 1903-1913. Since May 2013, it has been considered the main temple of the Russian Navy.
As BelTA reported, Aleksandr Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin plan to continue their communication tomorrow to discuss all the necessary issues – as stated by the heads of state themselves at the protocol part of their official meeting in the Konstantinovsky Palace.
