Lukashenko: people will decide everything as they see proper in elections
The Presidential elections in Belarus must be held in strict accordance with the national legislation – as stated by President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko during his today’s meeting with his proxies
The Head of State, in particular, stressed, “We need to pay special attention to ensure that all our actions comply with the law. Our fugitives have already triggered the West, and you can see their policies: [they urge] ‘to vote against all candidates’. The voting has not started yet, we have not yet heard what the candidates will be talking about, but they already say ‘vote against all’. Well, it is their business, their right to declare. It is easy to make statements while staying abroad. They are to come here and participate in the elections, and there have been many times explained how it is possible to come. There are no tortures or political prisoners [in the republic]. As President, I have no intention to put pressure on anyone. This is an election campaign, these are elections. People are to decide everything as they see proper. Therefore, it is necessary to comply with the legislation. Moreover, frankly speaking, what's the point of violating something and exposing ourselves to criticism?”
