The Head of State stressed, “Belarus has moved from a group of countries with a low level of human development to the one with a very high level, and it has been confidently maintaining its position for more than ten years. Just think about it: we have achieved this result in 30 years. Let's be honest. There is a basis for development. We have ensured macroeconomic balance and financial stability, restored the dynamics of economic growth, and increased our impressive export potential.”

According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, food security issues have been fully resolved in the country. “The level of Belarus’ self-sufficiency in milk and dairy products is over 260 percent, and this figure means that there is an opportunity to feed 2.5 times more people than the Belarusian population. As regards other indicators, we can provide almost one and a half of Belarus with meat and meat products. We are among the top five CIS states in the average per capita production of grain and vegetables. Do you remember how we bought grain from the Czech Republic in the 1990s to feed our people, while the current fugitives’ parents were against that, urging the Czech Republic not to give us grain – saying ‘let them better die’, and this is a quote. However, we survived. Moreover, we are ready to make our significant contribution to ensuring food security around the world. As you know, the UN Secretary General is also in favour of this,” the President said.

The Belarusian leader also noted a significant progress the county had made in ensuring energy independence. “The Belarusian nuclear power plant is our strong brand and our sovereignty. This is the quality of our life, which is ensured by the development of electric transport and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by truly impressive 7 million tonnes,” he added.
