Lukashenko outlined focuses in agriculture for Chairman of Belarus President Property Management Directorate: many markets are available, so it’s necessary to gain momentum
The agro-industrial complex organisations of the Belarus President Property Management Directorate need to work more actively and enter foreign markets, including premium ones – as stated by Head of State Aleksandr Lukashenko as he met today with the Chairman of Belarus President Property Management Directorate, Yuri Nazarov
Speaking of the work of the agro-industrial complex organisations, the Belarusian leader recalled, “We agreed that we will build new milk processing facilities instead of the old ones in the Mogilev Region. The storage bases that you oversee need to be more actively used, and we have already discussed this taking Alexandriysky as an example. Good storage facilities have been built, but they were not fully loaded last year or the year before. This is not good.”
Aleksandr Lukashenko instructed to put them in order and use for permanent storage of fruit and berry products that can be sold profitably. “The market is huge, it is vast. Russia and China are asking for more food products. There are enough markets these days, and they are quite premium. We need to work and develop in this regard," the President stressed.
The Belarusian leader stated that he had studied the final presentation on the results of the work of the President Property Management Directorate, noting that it had been well prepared.
At the moment, more than 6.4 thousand people work in the organisations of the agro-industrial complex of the Belarus President Property Management Directorate, and the total area of agricultural land makes 92.9 thousand hectares. Thirty-two dairy complexes operate, and 70.9 thousand heads of cattle, more than 105 thousand heads of pigs and 1.7 million heads of poultry are kept. In 2023, the agro-industrial complex organisations worked successfully, and all key indicators demonstrated positive dynamics. The growth rate of agricultural production stood at 104 percent against the 2022 level. Enough fodder was harvested for the winter period, as well as seeds for the future sowing campaign. Against the background of the growth in the production of livestock products, the volumes of their processing into cheeses, dry dairy products, butter, meat and by-products have also increased. As reported by the President Property Management Directorate, the modernisation of dairy complexes and greenhouses are actively underway.
