Lukashenko on food range and exports: we occupy worthy positions in world rankings

Belarus is one of the five largest exporters of dairy products, which today can be found on supermarket shelves in almost fifty countries around the world while the export geography of meat products exceeds thirty countries. The President recalled such results of the work of the country’s agro-industrial sector during the solemn ceremony honouring the leaders of the agro-industrial complex.

In particular, Aleksandr Lukashenko underlined, “No matter how domestic producers are stifled with sanctions, we traditionally occupy worthy positions in world rankings. We are one of the five largest exporters of dairy products, which today can be found on the shelves of supermarkets in almost fifty countries around the world. Belarus has entered the Chinese market and is successfully competing with New Zealand: a recognised leader in the dairy world ... We really have something to offer, since we manufacture more than 1,800 varieties of dairy products.”

The Head of State added that the country produces cheeses that are equal in taste and quality to well-known world brands. At the same time, a number of Belarusian organisations have achieved world-class results in milk production. As an example, the Belarusian leader cited the Molodovo-Agro enterprise in the Ivanovo District, where the annual productivity of cows of the dairy herd exceeds 12,000kg. These numbers continue to grow.

The best results in animal husbandry are traditionally demonstrated by agricultural organisations in the Grodno, Nesvizh, Dzerzhinsk, Smolevichi, Berestovitsa and Ivanovo districts.

“We produce more than a thousand varieties of meat products. The geography of their exports is more than thirty countries of the world. Today, Belarus is recognised not only by the famous MTZ tractors and BELAZ dump trucks, but also by such brands as Savushkin Produkt or Babushkina Krynka. Everyone who appreciates naturalness, safety and taste chooses Belarusian producers,” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.

Addressing the farmers, the President emphasised, “By introducing modern technologies, you have managed to preserve our traditions. And the fact that today we can offer goods both for the most demanding gourmet and for people in need of special and medical nutrition is also our great achievement ... The level of Belarus’ self-sufficiency in the main types of food products exceeds 100 percent. They are all and affordable and of high quality. And this is primarily the result of your work, dear workers, dear peasants.”
