Lukashenko, Mirziyoyev visited ski resort near Tashkent
The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, and his counterpart, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, have visited the Amirsoy ski resort near Tashkent on the third day of the Belarusian leader’s official visit to Uzbekistan, BelTA reports
The heads of state once again communicated in an informal setting, summing up the results of their negotiations and comparing views on the near- and mid-term.
The presidents paid special attention to co-operation in the fields of sports and tourism, which are one of the most important areas of humanitarian liaisons between Belarus and Uzbekistan. A day before, a programme of co-operation in sports for 2024-2025 and an action plan for tourism co-operation development were signed. Belarus and Uzbekistan agreed to assist each other in training of sportsmen, with an emphasis on winter sports.
The Amirsoy complex – located 65km east of Tashkent – is the largest ski resort in Uzbekistan and the most modern one in the Western Tien Shan of Central Asia.
Aleksandr Lukashenko got acquainted with the possibilities of the complex and skied down its slopes, which height ranges from 1,630 to 2,275 metres.
