Welcoming the guests, the Head of State recalled that the first event of the kind took place in February 1992 in the capital of Belarus, and today Minsk is hosting the fiftieth anniversary meeting.
"Such a long history of the representative forum of Interior Ministry leaders shows the exceptional importance of consolidating the efforts of law enforcement officers to ensure security, protect the constitutional rights and interests of citizens of all Commonwealth countries," Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.
The Head of State stated that the existing time-tested equal partnership, backed by a good contractual framework, is based on the principles of openness, trust and mutual assistance, “Over the years of our joint work, we have been convinced more than once: it is possible to counter global, cross-border and internal threats as effectively as possible only if efforts are combined, since friends and colleagues – who are always ready to lend a shoulder – are nearby. The CIS interior ministries are actually a shield for right-minded citizens and a sword for the criminal world, but this is true only if we are together.”
Proceeding from this, Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that Belarus has always been and still remains a consistent supporter of integration within the Commonwealth of Independent States, and in this case – further integration of law enforcement agencies.
