Lukashenko instructed to complete construction work at Minsk International Exhibition Centre by May 2025
While attending today’s solemn ceremony of the opening of a new section of the third line of Minsk’s metro, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has instructed to complete the construction work at the Minsk International Exhibition Centre by May, BelTA reports
"As regards the exhibition centre, I did not make you hurry in its opening. However, I want to warn you that the facility should be fully built as they [foreign investors] promised – virtually, from its doors to the conference hall – at their expense. There should be no digression in this regard. The project is good, so everything needs to be done," Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
The President drew special attention to the landscaping of the surrounding area and park zones, “People need to go out and relax there, so these places should be developed as well by them [investors] who are actually not poor. This is point one. Point two is that this is a convenient project, so ensure control that they are not constantly addressing me.”
"The exhibition centre should be ready on a turnkey basis, including parking, lighting – everything. This should be exemplary. After all, it is being constructed by a foreign company. When the [UAE] President and I discussed this topic in the Emirates (he asked me how they work), I did not go into details, I said they work well. So everything must be done properly. The whole complex is to be fully operational by May 9th – as they promised me,” the President stressed. “We have one and the same attitude to all – either Chinese or these people. Xi Jinping also asked me to inform him if his workers are underperforming.”hey are actually running around and starting to argue who is closer to the President, and who is not. The closest people to the President in Minsk are you and the Minsk residents," Aleksandr Lukashenko addressed the Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee, Vladimir Kukharev.
