BAA: new car sales hit peak in Belarus in December 2024

December traditionally became the peak month of the year when it comes to new cars sold, sb.by reports citing the Belarusian Automobile Association (BAA)’s press service

“In December 2024, BAA member dealers sold 7,205 new vehicles, which is 21 percent more than in November and 107 percent more compared to December 2023. Key reasons for the December sales jump are dealers’ marketing campaigns (discounts, package deals, good payment plans) and the growing consumer demand,” explained the press service.

They went on to elaborate that the Geely (BelGee) brand traditionally topped the passenger car category with 3,567 vehicles sold in December, or 53 percent of all new cars sold.

“When it comes to light commercial vehicles, their share of total December sales was 6 percent. Nearly 8 percent of all new cars sold in December were EVs; compare than to just 1.8 percent share of EVs in December 2023,” said the association’s representatives.
