Lukashenko highly appreciated prospects of Kupalovskoye Holding

President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko is continuing his working trip to the Shklov District of the Mogilev Region, and the effective development of agricultural production in the area – in particular, of the Kupalovskoye Holding – has been discussed in detail at today’s meeting with the participation of the Head of State

Aleksandr Lukashenko primarily got interested in how things are going at Kupalovskoye, what structure it has, and what its farms are engaged into. The holding occupies more than 30 percent of the Shklov District territory. As noted by the Head of State, the district is among the best ones in the country (on a par with Gorky, Mstislavl, Belynichi and Mogilev) in terms of land and soil resources. “These are very good lands, but they do not give the return that we should have. Therefore, we are trying to create [a structure] in the east of the country that could bring money to villagers and contribute to the agro-industrial complex development. In order for rural workers to have money, it is necessary to produce products, process and sell them through retail. Then real money will be available,” he said.

The Belarusian leader noted that Aleksandriyskoye already has some experience in this sphere, “It can be a good example. The lands here are good, and people know how to work. You can have good results here, so report to me on how you are planning to achieve this.”

The President also asked the heads of farms what is happening on the local lands today, and how they see their future development. Appropriate assistance and support were provided to all enterprises in the past. “How are the things going now, and how will they develop in the future?” the Belarusian leader wondered.

At yesterday’s meeting in Shklov, great attention was paid to the development of the Kupalovskoye Holding, and Aleksandr Lukashenko was presented with a specific proposal: to develop the agricultural holding with the participation of Aleksandriyskoye JSC, ASB-Agro Gorodets JSC, and Shklov Butter Factory. The latter three enterprises are part of the President Property Management Directorate structure.

"We propose to unite them into one structure," Yuri Nazarov, the Head of the Belarus President Property Management Directorate, addressed the President on August 9th. “We will take Kupalovskoye into the structure of the Property Management Directorate, if you agree – and this will be enough for the first stage. I think we can create an agro-industrial complex with strict centralisation. By concentrating and optimising resources, we will definitely have a good result.”
