As reported earlier, the Head of State has gone to the 56th anti-aircraft missile regiment in the Luninets District, Brest Region today. Aleksandr Lukashenko firstly visited the regiment's command post, where he was reported on how the situation stands while air defence combat duty tasks are being performed. He then went to the headquarters of the regiment – to inspect the territory and get acquainted with the infrastructure, also visiting the regiment's car park. The Defence Minister gave comments.

The headquarters later hosted a meeting on military security in the southern direction, with the President’s participation.

As BelTA reported, the situation on Belarus’ southern borders has been one of the hot topics of recent days. Aleksandr Lukashenko commented on the happening events in detail on July 2nd at a solemn meeting dedicated to Independence Day. "In no case should we allow any escalation or aggravation. I want the Ukrainian leadership to hear this. The concentration of armed forces, even if it means nothing special, is very dangerous during hostilities. We have analysed the situation, and we are well aware that we do not need any aggravation. We have always voiced that, and Ukrainians understand that we will respond,” the Head of State said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko asked Ukrainians not to mess around and not to flirt with danger. “It is very dangerous," he noted.

The President stated that the Belarusian border guards had been transferred to enhanced protection of the state border. Special operations forces were also deployed. The air force and air defence forces of both Belarus and Russia were on high alert, while the Polonaise and Iskander missile systems were brought into position. "There will be no red lines, but a strike with all types of weapons against the predetermined targets," the Belarusian leader warned unequivocally.

At the same time, Aleksandr Lukashenko urged the people not to worry unnecessarily and repeated the request that had been voiced more than once: everyone should calmly do what they have to. “Everything I am talking about is the concern of me and the military. We will handle it. I guarantee you that we will not allow any clashes on the border with Ukraine. There will be none of them,” the Head of State said at a solemn meeting in early July.
