Lukashenko congratulated personnel of 5th Separate Special Purpose Brigade on 60th anniversary of its formation
The Head of State, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has congratulated the personnel and veterans of the 5th Separate Special Purpose Brigade on the 60th anniversary of its formation, the Belarusian leader’s press service reports
As the President noted, formed in the post-war years, this brigade has repeatedly confirmed its special status of the army elite, being one of the best military units of the special operations forces in the USSR Armed Forces.
“Throughout its history, the brigade has solved the most important tasks of ensuring the country’s military security, demonstrating high professionalism, fortitude, courage, mutual assistance, carefully preserving and multiplying the experience of many generations," the congratulatory message reads. “The soldiers of this famous ‘Five’ [5th brigade] still serve worthily today in the most difficult conditions, protecting the country and the people. I am convinced that the brigade will continue to remain a strong link in the national defence system of our state, and each of you is a true patriot and an example of military duty."
