Lukashenko: buying Western-made products does not guarantee technological security
Buying products from Western brands does not guarantee technological security any longer, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko said on October 31st, at the 2nd Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security
Speaking on the matters of economic security, the President noted, “Half the world is currently under illegal sanctions. Illegitimate restrictions paralyse entire industries. Private property rights have been annihilated. For decades, the collective West has been lecturing us what private property should be. Where is it now? Government assets are being frozen, while sovereign finances fall victim to bold-faced theft. Gas pipelines are blown up, sea access is denied. Buying products from Western brands does not guarantee technological security any longer. At any moment, they can block component supplies or service. We’ve seen it in Belarus, and even clearer in Russia.”
He continued, stating that they used offers and pleas to get the permission to supply medical equipment to our market.
“Service is denied, you can’t buy components legally. What is that? It’s a matter of public health. What Lukashenko, dictatorship, or power in Belarus have to do with that? It’s about the health of ordinary people,” said the Head of State.
The President added that the international labour division system built painstakingly with so much effort is now being eroded.
