Lukashenko arrived to China on state visit
The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has arrived to China on a state visit. As reported by BelTA, the plane of the Head of State landed at the Beijing Airport.
China’s First Deputy Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus, Xie Xiaoyung, welcomed Aleksandr Lukashenko at the airport. The Belarusian delegation included First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov, Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik, and Ambassador to China Yuri Senko.
The visit will continue a long-term course of building friendship and mutually beneficial co-operation with the People's Republic of China. At a bilateral meeting on the side-lines of the Shanghai Co-operation Organisation summit in September 2022, the leaders of Belarus and China adopted a joint declaration on bringing relations to a new level: all-weather and comprehensive strategic partnership.
The heads of state will focus on the analysis of the achieved results and the maximum practical realisation of the potential of a new level in relations. The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, and the President of China, Xi Jinping, will hold talks in a narrow and expanded format – paying attention to the development of trade, economic, investment and humanitarian co-operation, the implementation of joint large-scale projects, liaisons in the political sphere, responding to the most acute challenges in the modern international environment.
It is expected that a large package of documents on the development of relations in key areas will be signed following the talks.
Aleksandr Lukashenko’s state visit to China will end on March 2nd. It is expected that the Belarusian leader will also hold a number of meetings with China’s senior officials and major corporation heads in Beijing.
