Lukashenko discussed upcoming elections, personnel issues and ideology with Kochanova
The President of Belarus has met today with Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly Natalya Kochanova. Aleksandr Lukashenko outlined a range of political issues that he would like to discuss with the Speaker of the Upper House of the Parliament.
“The main issue is the upcoming elections. We are entering the electoral campaign. It will be long: starting with [elections] of local municipal councils, the Belarusian People’s Congress – a new direction for us – and ending with presidential elections. On the one hand, the mobilisation of people and our mobilisation. On the other hand, we have to organise everything in such a way as to prevent the country and the society from rocking like it happened before.”
The second topic is personnel issues and ideology.
“We also have many problems here, many questions,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stated. “It seems that we are working, but it is desirable that the efficiency be higher.”
