Kochanova on Forum of Regions: we must make this platform a centre for generating ideas, projects, initiatives

The Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia faces a responsible strategic task: to go beyond the Union State, to intensify interaction with the SCO, BRICS, ASEAN and everyone who is ready to be friends and work with us – Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly Natalya Kochanova said this in an interview with SB. She underlined, “We must make this platform a centre for the generation of interregional ideas, projects, and initiatives. Through joint efforts in the spirit of alliance and solidarity, it is necessary to overcome the challenges of the time and move forward. We’ll progress in this direction.”

According to the Speaker of the Council of the Republic, the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia fulfils an important mission, contributing to the creation of a solid economic foundation for the Union State construction, strengthening humanitarian ties and enriching common cultural traditions.

“As a result, this gives the two countries’ citizens confidence in the future,” said Natalya Kochanova. “This is probably the most important advantage of this format of interstate interaction, especially at the current stage of global development. A serious foundation has already been created for expanding Belarusian-Russian interaction: contacts have been intensified, many successful projects are being implemented, and the areas of our collaboration are steadily expanding. As you know, the 9th Forum surpassed the previous ones in its results, and the 10th Forum updated absolute records. I believe we can talk about a certain trend and expect further growth across the achieved indicators.”
