Kochanova: MPs will do everything to ensure that co-operation between Belarus, China develops more effectively

Belarus and China have established very good and friendly relations – as stated by Natalya Kochanova, the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus, during her meeting with Zhang Wenchuan, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Belarus

“We are sincerely proud and cherish our friendship with great China. It is very valuable for us. We understand that the relations that are developing between our countries today are the merit of our leaders: President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko and President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping. Therefore, we are confidently talking about our comprehensive and all-weather partnership,” Ms. Kochanova said.

The Chairperson of the Council of the Republic also spoke of the economic successes in co-operation that the countries had achieved, noting that the Belarus-China trade turnover had grown to $8.5bn.

Ms. Kochanova recalled the task set by the President during the visit of Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang to Belarus in August, “Economic co-operation should be brought to the level of political co-operation. We understand that this task is very important for us. We must actively work in all directions. As parliamentarians, we will do everything to ensure that our interaction develops more effectively.”
