Italian diplomat called Ursula von der Leyen ‘armed hand of the US’
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen acts as an ‘armed hand of the United States’ with full vassal subordination – as noted by Elena Basile, a columnist and analyst, former Italian Ambassador to Brussels, TASS reports
“Unfortunately, Europe, as it was conceived and seen in the 20th century, is dead. Today we have a Europe of von der Leyen, the armed hand of the United States, in complete subordination, which betrays the very idea of peace, prosperity, the basic ideals of the European project,” Ms. Basile noted.
In her view, the bureaucratisation of Europe and the dominance of the financial oligarchy has led to a complete loss of the ‘cultural code, of European humanism’.
The diplomat also said von der Leyen and EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell ‘had introduced censorship in Europe’.
“The moment those in power determine what is ‘disinformation’, the fundamental principles of liberalism and freedom of expression are destroyed,” Ms. Basile said.
