Houthis ready to buy Russian wheat for Roubles

The ruling Ansar Allah, or the Houthi movement, in the north of Yemen is ready to buy wheat from the Russian Federation for Russian Roubles, RIA Novosti reports

A member of the Supreme Political Council of Ansar Allah, Muhammad Ali Al-Houthi, said, “Russia offered its assistance to Yemen [in the form of] wheat some time ago. So we are telling our brothers in the Foreign Ministry to contact [the country] to buy wheat and derivative products from Russia – and this is a good thing – in Roubles, away from other currencies."

It has become earlier known that China is considering a possible transfer of energy trade with Russia to Yuans or Roubles.
