Hongjian: meeting of Aleksandr Lukashenko and Xi Jinping will contribute to easing security risks
Aleksandr Lukashenko's visit will enable China to better facilitate and more effectively help resolve the Ukrainian crisis – as noted by the Director of the Department for European Studies at the China Institute of International Studies, Cui Hongjian
“The visit of the President of Belarus will be of a very constructive significance for the Chinese side to be aware of the entire crisis situation and to better play its role in promoting a political settlement,” Cui Hongjian said.
According to the expert, thanks to the Belarusian leader’s visit – which has been in focus around the world, as well as to possible visits of the French President and the European Commission Head to China, the Chinese leadership will gradually find more partners for a political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis.
“The meeting between Aleksandr Lukashenko and Xi Jinping will undoubtedly contribute to reducing security risks for Belarus,” he stressed.
