“A meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Union State is scheduled to be held in Minsk on November 5th,” noted the Prime Minister, adding with satisfaction that, together with Russia, a system of communication and decision-making in the interests of the Union State development had been agreed upon, and it allows the parties to promptly resolve problematic issues, move forward and work out joint actions in difficult conditions.

"We are approaching the 25th anniversary of the Union State integration with a good economic result: the GDP growth in our countries exceeds 4 percent, and our mutual trade increased by more than 8 percent compared to the same period last year," Mr. Golovchenko stressed.

According to the Prime Minister, since the previous meeting of the Union State Council of Ministers (in November 2023), a significant number of events, meetings and negotiations at the highest level have taken place. “The presidents of Belarus and Russia have repeatedly met both in a bilateral format and within the framework of events organised by international organisations,” he noted, adding that the two countries’ prime ministers and heads of the relevant agencies maintain contacts as well. “Therefore, the implementation of a package of decisions adopted at a meeting of the Supreme State Council in St. Petersburg in January has become the key task of the governments of Belarus and Russia this year. It is the main guideline in the current agenda of the Union State.”

Mr. Golovchenko also noted that the parties had prepared a large package of documents for today’s meeting of the Union State Council of Ministers, “Its agenda will cover more than 20 issues.”
