The period of October-December is named as the date of the beginning of destructive actions, and the State Security Service explained, “A group of individuals operating on the territory of Georgia and beyond its borders plans to organise destabilisation and civil unrest, the ultimate goal of which is a violent change of power.”

The source named Giorgi Lortkipanidze (Deputy Interior Minister in times of Mikheil Saakashvili’s presidency), Saakashvili’s former bodyguard Mikhail Baturin and Georgian Legion’s commander in Ukraine Mamuka Mamulashvili as the authors of this plan.

In October-December, an interim report of the European Commission and the final report of the European Union on whether Georgia will receive the status of a candidate for EU membership will be released.

According to the source, the members of the group have developed several scenarios. One of them is to place tents on central avenues and barricade government buildings, and then to detonate a bomb in a tent city so that civilian casualties cause unrest among the population. As noted by the State Security Service, the criminal group is also considering a scenario similar to Euromaidan in Ukraine.
