Geography of milk powder exports expanded at BUCE

Vietnam has joined the pool of foreign buyers of milk powder on the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange, sb.by reports with reference to the BUCE press service

The first exchange transaction between a Belarusian dairy processing enterprise and a Vietnamese trading company was concluded using an address mechanism that had been in effect at BUCE since August 9th, 2024. The purchase volume amounted to 52 tonnes.

“In August, seven countries joined the platform to buy powdered milk and other Belarusian dairy products. Some buyers have already made their first transactions using the ‘classic’ or ‘targeted’ scheme. Among them are importing companies from Saudi Arabia and Vietnam. In addition, trial purchases from residents of Venezuela, Malaysia, Oman and Turkmenistan are expected in the near future," BUCE spokesman Roman Yaniv said.

In eight months of 2024, 49.6 thousand tonnes of skimmed and whole milk powder were exported through exchange trading (the figure stood at 8.6 thousand tonnes in twelve months of 2023).
