Belarus’ President signed decree pardoning 37 more people on eve of National Unity Day

On the eve of National Unity Day, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko signed a decree pardoning 37 more people convicted of extremist crimes, and this has become another gesture of humanism on the part of the state towards those who made a false step, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

The document was signed on September 16th.

There are six women among those pardoned. A number of those pardoned have chronic diseases, are disabled, and of the retirement age. All of them repented and asked to be given the opportunity to return to freedom, to lead a law-abiding lifestyle.

The petitions of the convicts were additionally studied by a commission headed by Prosecutor General Andrei Shved.
