Fico threatened to reduce aid to Ukrainians in Slovakia over gas transit cut

Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico said his party, Smer-SD, is ready to support reducing aid to Ukrainians in Slovakia as a response to Kiev cutting gas transit, RIA Novosti reports

“Talking on behalf of Smer-SD, I’d like to inform that we are ready to discuss and reach agreement within our coalition about stopping energy supplies and significantly reducing support for Ukrainian nationals in Slovakia,” Fico said in a video address he published on his Facebook page.

He went on to express hope that other members of his coalition are also taking the cessation of gas transit through the Ukrainian territory seriously.
