Every fifth young Belarusian participates in patriotic actions

Over the past year, every fifth young person in Belarus participated in patriotic events – as informed by Natalia Sosnovskaya, the scientific secretary at the Belarusian National Academy of Sciences’ Sociology Institute

To ensure more effective implementation of the state youth policy, it is necessary to know and take into account the youngsters’ opinion. In this regard, Ms. Sosnovskaya noted that experts conduct sociological studies that help identify how the policy in force meets the expectations of young people.

“We also compare the opinion of young people and that of other age groups. The majority of the population believes that the main direction of the state youth policy is to support young families. This is followed by promotion of a healthy lifestyle, civic and patriotic education. Youth representatives also place the support of young families on the top. Further in importance for them is support in getting education and promotion of a healthy lifestyle,” the expert said.
