Election 2025: Markov revealed information centre details
Speaking at the workshop called Information Support for Electoral Campaign: Main Stages and Structural Features, Marat Markov, Belarus’ Information Minister, revealed details of the Central Election Commission’s information centre, to be set up by the Information Ministry together with the CEC in January 2025
“The information centre will accommodate a pool of experts, away studios for major national media, CEC Chairman’s press conferences, and video conferences with chairs of local election commissions,” the minister said.
Accredited journalists from other media will also be offered a place in the centre which is going to come online on the day before the election, January 25th, 2025. However, according to Yelena Grigorovich, Head of the CEC Office Department of Legal, Analytics and Method Affairs, CEC has already prepared a handbook for journalists.
“A handbook for media representatives will be available at the Commission’s official website in the coming days. There, you can find all the main stages of the electoral campaign, along with rights and responsibilities of journalists and media officials,” explained Ms. Grigorovich.
The Support for Electoral Campaign: Main Stages and Structural Features workshop took place on November 6th in the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Belarus. The event was organised by the Information Ministry and supported by the Central Election Commission and the Academy of Public Administration.
