Economy Minister: Belarus, UNDP accumulated significant experience of co-operation
The activities of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Belarus will contribute to the country’s socio-economic development and the achievement of the SDGs – as stated by Belarus’ Economy Minister Yuri Chebotar at a meeting with UNDP Resident Representative in Belarus Liu Renfei, timed to coincide with the start of her work in our country, sb.by reports with reference to the Economy Ministry’s website
The Economy Minister noted that Belarus and UNDP have accumulated significant experience in co-operation across a range of important areas.
“Our country is currently entering a new cycle of developing medium- and long-term socio-economic development programmes. UNDP is launching the process of developing a new five-year country programme in Belarus, and we are interested in attracting the UNDP expert, technical and financial,” Yuri Chebotar noted.
According to the Economy Ministry, during the event, the parties discussed promising areas of interaction and financing formats for the development of our country at the national and local levels.
“An agreement has been reached to continue contacts at the expert level in order to implement the agreements outlined during the meeting,” the economic department said.
