Draft resolution on Union State single media company to be submitted to Union State Supreme State Council
A draft resolution of the Supreme State Council on the creation of a single media company of the Union State has been prepared, State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev told reporters after his meeting with the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko
“We have prepared a draft resolution of the Supreme State Council. It is planned to set up a single media company of the Union State, which will take over co-ordination and ensure the release on the pages of printed publications, a TV channel and an Internet resource (a lot of attention will be paid to it) of the content and information that will be related not only to interaction within the Union State, but also to our history, our plans, how we react to external pressure, including mental pressure. We’d like this to be a very interesting, powerful set of tasks that the renewed team will be able to deal with,” said Dmitry Mezentsev.
He also stressed that this year about 40 events in the cultural, humanitarian, civil-patriotic and educational spheres are planned in the Union State, “We have increased funding for such events by a third, without imposing anything on anyone. For example, tomorrow we will hand over to St. Petersburg Governor Aleksandr Beglov 450 books dedicated to the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War, the siege of Leningrad and the heroism of the defenders of the city on the Neva. By July 3rd [Independence Day of Belarus] we will present a new book – Operation Bagration: People’s Avengers – dedicated to the partisan movement in Belarus. This year, books devoted to Simeon Polotsky, Francysk Skaryna, and Dmitry Mendeleev will be published. Of course, the Space as a Dream of Humanity edition is especially significant, because Marina Vasilevskaya from Belarus is preparing to fly to the ISS. This is not just a flight. This is an indicator of a special system of relations between Roscosmos State Corporation, the National Academy of Sciences, the ministries of Belarus and Russia to develop high-tech proposals, enabling us to meet the requirements of the time in the sci-tech area.”
