CIS members developing draft concept of military co-operation until 2030

The CIS countries will develop a draft concept of military co-operation until 2030 – as announced by the CIS Secretary General, Sergei Lebedev, at the 12th meeting of the CIS security council secretaries in Moscow, RIA Novosti reports

“It is obvious that the expansion of co-operation in the field of military security is an important stabilising factor in the current situation. Within the Commonwealth of Independent States, we are starting to develop a draft concept of military co-operation until 2030. This document will outline clear priorities and new guidelines for our mid-term interaction,” the CIS Secretary General said.

"We proceed from the fact that the combat and tactical and technical training of our armed forces should be conducted on the basis of mutual enrichment with existing practical experience and scientific achievements," Mr. Lebedev added.
