Chinese FM: BRICS enhancing its position as platform for co-operation
The importance of BRICS as a platform for promoting unity and co-operation among the countries of the Global South has increased – as stated by the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Mao Ning, TASS reports
Commenting at a briefing on the statement by Russian Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov about the successful completion of the task of integrating new members into the association, the Chinese diplomat stressed, “The BRICS representation has expanded even further, the organisation's attractiveness and influence have become even more visible, and it is increasingly becoming an important platform for promoting unity and co-operation for the countries of the Global South.”
Mao Ning pointed out that the consensus on Belarus, Bolivia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Thailand, Uganda and Uzbekistan receiving the status of partner countries ‘marks a new level of co-operation between the BRICS members’.
The official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry stated China's readiness to increase co-operation with BRICS members and partners.
