“The situation on the border is quite difficult now: the main checkpoints on the adjacent side are closed. Unfortunately, our colleagues from neighbouring countries deliberately restrict freight traffic at the checkpoints that are still operating. Therefore, the main trend in the customs authorities’ work is to reorient cargo flows to the east. This year, freight traffic in the eastern direction has increased fourfold. Based on this trend, we are rebuilding our work. We help our businesses as much as possible in rebuilding logistics in a new direction, ensuring prompt clearance of goods from any customs clearance point, wherever the goods are in the country. Such work makes it possible to fill the budget in full, as instructed by the Head of State,” Vladimir Orlovsky underlined.

The official also said that our customs officers did not leave the main points in the Ukrainian direction, “We stayed at our jobs. We carry out remote customs clearance of goods that are located inside the country. In this way, we maintain the qualifications of our employees, while also keeping our equipment and machinery in working order. When necessary, we are ready to resume full customs clearance at the border.”
