As reported earlier, during his meeting with the President of Belarus, Alexander Bastrykin presented the Head of State with Medal for Loyalty to Duty – an award of the Russian Investigative Committee.
“In connection with your anniversary and for strengthening co-operation between the investigative committees of Belarus and Russia and for making your invaluable contribution to this,” the Chairman of Russia’s Investigative Committee noted. No other gift was reported in the media that day. The journalists of the First News TV Channel found out the details. As it turned out, off-camera, Alexander Bastrykin presented the President of Belarus with another present, a Kuban sabre.
“The gift is also personal — he himself is a hereditary Kuban Cossack. Such weapons have always demonstrated fearlessness and readiness to defend the native land. In general, it is a symbol of the Motherland and strength,” the authors of the TV story said.
