CEC Chairman: CEC Information Centre to accommodate 600 media representatives
Belarus’ Central Election Commission (CEC) will open its Information Centre, traditionally located in the Palace of the Republic, on January 24th. On the first day of its operation, the centre is going to host a meeting of the Advisory Council of the heads of CIS election bodies and the Vybor.BY youth tournament, said CEC Chairman Igor Karpenko on January 10th.
Mr. Karpenko went on to add that an exhibition celebrating 35 years of the Central Election Commission will be open in the 2nd floor lobby of the Palace of the Republic’s Grand Hall.
On January 25th, the CEC Chairman will hold a press conference on preparations for the 2025 Presidential election in Belarus.
On January 26th, the centre will be broadcasting election data (at 11am, 1pm, 3pm, 5pm, 7pm, and 9pm), with cut-ins from the regions (according to a separate schedule) and the public observation centre.
The CEC Chairman also pointed out that the information centre will accommodate experts, observers, and journalists.
“About 600 national and international media representatives will be operating from the information centre. On January 27th, the CEC will hold a press conference on the preliminary voting results from there. The international observer mission, along with other international observers, will share their opinions on the election,” he said.
