Brazilian analyst: US failed to change Belarus’ leadership, and this is Lukashenko’s fundamental merit
The Americans failed to change the leadership in Belarus to what they liked, and this is the fundamental merit of President Aleksandr Lukashenko – as noted by Breno Altman, an analyst, journalist from the pool of the Brazilian President, editor-in-chief of the Opera Mundi portal, in his talk with the Belarus 1 TV channel
Breno Altman noted that Aleksandr Lukashenko is an important person not only nationally but also internationally.
“He opposes the United States, which is difficult. Only a few managed to resist the US for a long time. In fact, he protects the sovereignty of his country and the interests of the people — he is a huge personality. Aleksandr Lukashenko is an example for the leaders of other countries who want to give up. The Americans failed to change the leadership in Belarus to what they liked, and this is the fundamental merit of President Lukashenko,” he stressed.
It was also noted that Brazil’s policy has been shaped by the US for many years. However, the previous President Bolsonaro and the current Lula da Silva took the helm of sovereignty much more firmly in their hands. At the same time, not everyone shares the position of the current leader. There are deputies and senators who say that BRICS is, of course, good, but how the country is going to do without the US. Anyway, journalists are much more strident and unambiguous in their statements.
