Olga Pozharitskaya noted that the discussion raised topical issues of staff skills development in the face of modern challenges, such as digital development, working with big data and retaining qualified specialists in national statistical organisations.

“We shared our experience, focusing on the importance of the legal framework for the system of professional development, the main directions and prospects for the development of professional competencies, the need to apply various motivational measures, and creation of an engaging and supportive work environment for retaining specialists.

The National Statistical Committee of Belarus stressed that sharing experience with representatives of other countries helps learn about the best practices and innovations, as well as improve the training and personnel management in Belarus’ state statistics bodies.
