Belpharmprom: Belarus’ medicines supplied to 24 countries

Nine of these are CIS members and 15 are non-CIS states – as noted by Director General of Belpharmprom Holding Management Company Igor Mitrofanov, adding that the CIS market remains a major one in terms of exports for Belarusian medicines

“Our supplies to the region account for about 90 percent of all exports,” Igor Mitrofanov said.

He also noted that as part of the diversification of export supplies, work continues with countries in Asia, Latin America, Africa, and negotiations are currently underway with Mozambique, Uganda, and Libya. Moreover, these are not all directions.

“We are trying to make the first deliveries of Belarusian medicines to Zimbabwe, Kenya, and Equatorial Guinea,” the Belpharmprom CEO underlined. “The possibility of localising the production of drugs ‘from the portfolios’ of foreign companies at Belarusian pharmaceutical enterprises is being studied. Now there are ten companies that we are negotiating with: Russia, Iran, China, Cuba, etc. There are about 21 in-demand drugs under development.”
