Belarus, Vatican discuss co-operation
On January 10th-11th, Belarus’ Deputy Foreign Minister, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the Holy See (non-resident), Sergei Aleinik, is visiting the Vatican – as informed by the Foreign Ministry’s press service
On January 10th, Mr. Aleinik took part in a solemn New Year's audience of Pope Francis I for the diplomatic corps accredited to the Holy See and then met with the State Secretary of the Holy See, Cardinal Pietro Parolin. The sides discussed topical issues of bilateral co-operation, interaction as part of international organisations and also joint efforts to strengthen interfaith dialogue.
Mr. Aleinik is scheduled to meet with the Secretary for Relations with States (Foreign Minister) of the State Secretariat of the Holy See, Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, and also with Cardinal Kurt Koch, the Chairman of the Pontifical Council for Promotion of Christian Unity.
