Belarus’ State Customs Committee Chairman explained how technologies and approaches changed after closure of checkpoints by Western neighbours

After neighbouring countries closed a number of checkpoints on the Belarusian border, our customs officers changed technologies and approaches in their work – as noted by Chairman of Belarus’ State Customs Committee Vladimir Orlovsky during his today’s report to President Aleksandr Lukashenko

Touching on the issue of the closure of checkpoints by our neighbours, Vladimir Orlovsky underlined, “The situation with the closure of checkpoints and the deliberate obstruction of the movement of our goods by neighbouring countries has, of course, changed the situation. In this regard, we are changing our technologies and approaches. The most important thing is maximum support for our enterprises.”

According to the Chairman of the State Customs Committee, customs authorities are helping companies change logistics to the East.

“Logistics has become more complex and multi-stage. We’re rebuilding technologies, enabling us to make customs clearance of cargo where it is located: from any customs point where there is a free customs officer,” Vladimir Orlovsky explained.

If cargo customs clearance is needed at night, it’s possible to use 24-hour cargo clearance points.

“Customs has become more mobile and accessible for our business,” the official summed up.
