Belarus signed 50 intergovernmental and interstate agreements on air transport
At a press conference dedicated to Civil Aviation Workers’ Day, Igor Golub, Director of the Aviation Department at the Transport and Communications Ministry, stated that civil aviation occupies a special place in Belarus’ life throughout its sovereign history – being a calling card of the state and an indicator of its economic development
“The civil aviation of Belarus is a modern, dynamic, high-tech transport sector of the economy today, and it meets all international standards of reliability, quality and safety of air transportation. The domestic aviation transport organisations are constantly working to improve their material and technical base, as well as airports. They are actively engaged into the increase of the volume of services, while upgrading facilities, equipment and mechanisation tools, mastering new types of aircraft repair, and perfecting the training of aviation specialists,” Mr. Golub said.
The Aviation Department oversees international co-operation, and its head commented, “By now, Belarus has signed 50 intergovernmental, interstate agreements on air transport. Last year, an air service agreement was signed with Oman, and we have signed an intergovernmental agreement with Saudi Arabia and the Seychelles recently. The procedures for internal co-ordination have been completed, and we are ready to sign an intergovernmental agreement on air communication with Venezuela and Kenya.”
