Belarus’ NOC President took part in torch relay of 8th Children of Asia Games in Yakutsk

The President of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus (NOC), Viktor Lukashenko, has taken part in the torch relay of the 8th Children of Asia Games in Yakutsk, sb.by reports with reference to the NOC Telegram channel

The relay started on March 20th from the Khangalas District, the birthplace of the founder of the Children of Asia Games, the first President of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Mikhail Nikolaev.

Seventy-four torchbearers have taken part in the final stage of the relay, including President of Belarus’ NOC Viktor Lukashenko, Head of Yakutia Aisen Nikolaev, President of the Russian Olympic Committee Stanislav Pozdnyakov, President of the Children of Asia International Committee Vladimir Maksimov, Secretary General of Belarus’ NOC Ksenia Sankovich, as well as famous athletes.

Lit 100 days before the start of the Games at the foot of the Lena Pillars, the fire covered almost 37,000km, being carried by more than 500 torchbearers and escorted by over 900 volunteers. The finish of the relay will take place on the evening of June 26th during the opening ceremony of the Children of Asia Games at the Tuymaada Stadium.
