Ambassador: Belarus ready to supply Yemen with products for economic recovery
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia, Dmitry Krutoi, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Yemen to Russia and Belarus concurrently, Ahmed Salem al-Waheishi, the Belarusian diplomatic mission reports
The parties discussed key issues of the development of Belarusian-Yemeni relations and co-operation between the two countries in international organisations, also exchanging views on the military-political and humanitarian situation in Yemen.
Mr. Krutoi emphasised Belarus’ interest in restoring the positions of Yemen as the republic’s traditional partner in the Arab world and in activating the whole range of bilateral relations as the situation in this country normalises. The diplomat expressed support for the activities of the UN and the political forces of Yemen aimed at restoring the territorial integrity of the country and formation of state institutions.
In addition, Mr. Krutoi stressed that Belarus is ready to supply Yemen with a wide range of products for its economic recovery – including food, medicines, trucks, tractors, agricultural and road construction equipment.
In turn, Ahmed Salem al-Waheishi said that he had already visited Belarus and met with representatives of state bodies. The diplomat noted the sustainable socio-economic development of Belarus and highly appreciated the country’s efforts to guarantee international peace and security. He expressed readiness to actively contribute to the development of Belarusian-Yemeni co-operation in all spheres.
"The sides spoke in favour of continuing the dialogue on the bilateral agenda and further strengthening liaisons between Belarus and Yemen on multilateral platforms, primarily in the UN and the Non-Aligned Movement," the diplomatic mission reported.
