Aleinik: President’s state visit to China is of historical importance

During the state visit of President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko to China, the two countries’ leaders reaffirmed the status of an all-weather and comprehensive strategic partnership and outlined a number of measures to strengthen and expand it – Belarus’ Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik told journalists in Beijing

In particular, the Head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry assesses the President’s state visit to China as follows, “Without any exaggeration, it has historical significance. First of all, the visit has the status of a state visit – the top form of visit according to the diplomatic protocol, ceremonial and corresponding honours. Secondly, this visit cements the truly strategic nature of our relations with the People’s Republic of China, which in September 2022 reached a qualitatively new level of all-weather and all-round strategic partnership. During this visit, the heads of state reaffirmed this status and outlined a number of measures to strengthen and expand it.”

The Foreign Minister of Belarus underlined that the visit takes place in a difficult historical period of the geopolitical reorganisation of the world, “This is the period when the world enters the era of multi-polarity. We all understand that China has already become one of the main poles of the multipolar world. Of course, the personal communication of the heads of state always gives a powerful impetus to the development of bilateral relations and co-operation across all areas without exception.”
