Zimbabwe keen to purchase MAZ equipment adapted to local climatic conditions
Prospects for the supply of equipment from the Minsk Automobile Works (MAZ) to Zimbabwe have been discussed during a visit of this country’s delegation – headed by Judith Mkwanda, the Minister of State for Bulawayo Metropolitan Province and Decentralisation of the Republic of Zimbabwe – to the enterprise, the MAZ media centre reports
“Co-operation with the Republic of Zimbabwe is developing at a successful pace: its delegation visited the Minsk Automobile Works and the MAZ-Kupava Automobile Trailer and Body Plant on August 28th,” the media centre informed. “Previously, we supplied timber harvesting and firefighting equipment to Zimbabwe. Today we have an order in production for the manufacture of machinery for agricultural needs. During the visit, it was noted that the company has great potential both in the supply of passenger transport and in creating a new product – localised and adapted for operation in real climatic conditions of Zimbabwe – together with a local manufacturer of bus equipment.”
In addition, the guests also showed interest in the MAZ-Kupava mobile medical complex, as well as commercial and insulated vans.
As previously reported, Judith Mkwanda, the Minister of State for Bulawayo Metropolitan Province and Decentralisation of the Republic of Zimbabwe, is currently on a working visit to Belarus – organised to further expand co-operation and develop new vectors of interaction. This year, Belarus’ Industry Ministry and Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Industry and Trade have signed a memorandum of co-operation to raise bilateral relations to a higher level, strengthen friendly relations and mutually beneficial ties between the two countries.
