Zakharova: Belarus-Russia co-operation acquires special significance in conditions of unprecedented pressure
Union State interaction between Russia and Belarus is of particular importance in the context of a sharply aggravated international situation and unprecedented sanctions pressure on Russia and Belarus from unfriendly countries – as stated by official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova during a briefing
Announcing the events in honour of the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia, Maria Zakharova noted the main milestones in the work of the Union State and confirmed her commitment to further integration within the Union State, “Russians and Belarusians today, as in all times, are the two closest fraternal, friendly nations. We are connected by a common history, common spiritual and moral values, close family ties. We are united not only by a great past, but also by joint plans for the future. Of course, together we are able to cope with any tasks, increase the heritage of our ancestors, create a solid foundation for the sustainable development of new generations of the Union State,” she noted.
“I understand that people don’t congratulate [on the holiday] in advance, but it seems to me that this is the case when congratulations are appropriate, but we will return to this topic on the very date of April 2nd,” said the official representative of the Foreign Ministry.
