In his speech, Pavel Yevseenko underlined that the Shanghai Co-operation Organisation is the largest regional organisation in the world with a total territory of more than 35 million sq.km and a population of over 3.5 billion people.

“Belarus is proud that, together with the SCO member states, which today act as the engine of global economic growth and centres of attraction for investments and technologies, it is ready to consistently implement the priorities and approaches laid down in the SCO’s statutory documents,” the Belarusian diplomat noted.

As President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed, our country’s accession to the SCO opens up strategic prospects in the field of economy, investment, transit, ICT, security and combating organised crime for both Minsk and the entire Eurasian region. Equally important will be the interaction of nations in the fields of culture, science, education, sports and tourism, promoting a long-term irreversible unifying agenda within the framework of interpersonal contacts.

“As a member of the EAEU and the SCO, as part of the consistent promotion of the concept of ‘integration of integrations’, Belarus will continue to do everything possible to expand the corridors of interregional co-operation," Pavel Yevseenko said, concluding his speech.
