Xi Jinping: China, US must co-operate for the benefit of entire world
Beijing hopes that China and the United States will be partners for the benefit of the whole world rather than oppose each other – as noted by Chinese President Xi Jinping, TASS reports
During a meeting with US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, the Chinese leader noted, “Against the background of an unstable and intertwined international situation, countries need to unite and co-operate rather than divide and oppose each other.”
The words of the Chinese President are quoted by China Central Television.
According to Xi Jinping, as two major countries, China and the United States should be responsible for history, for the people and for the world. He also believes that Beijing and Washington should be ‘a source of stability for world peace and a propeller for common development’.
“We hope that the United States will meet us halfway and view China and its development in a positive and rational light,” Xi Jinping added.
He is convinced that both countries should look at each other’s development as an opportunity rather than a challenge.
