According to the Detik portal, the plant is located in the Kendal District of the Central Java Province. After the first stage is commissioned, it will produce 80 thousand tonnes of anode materials and meet the needs of 1.5 million electric vehicles. The new enterprise is to become the world's second largest plant producing anode materials.

“I really appreciate the speed of construction of this plant, we signed [a co-operation agreement] just 10 months ago in Beijing, and the plant is ready now. The pace is incredible,” Joko Widodo said.

It is planned that the construction of the second stage of the plant will be completed in H1 2025. Afterwards, 160 thousand tonnes of anode materials will be produced at the facility – enough to meet the needs of 3 million electric vehicles.
