Workers went on strike at facility being built for Paris Olympics

About 120 workers have blocked activity at the construction site of a Paris 2024 venue, Reuters reports

According to the news agency, workers staged a strike on the territory of the Porte de la Chapelle Arena, which is due to host badminton and rhythmic gymnastics competition at next year’s Summer Olympic Games. The workers are reportedly demanding that employers formally enter into contracts with them and provide them with documents, enabling them to obtain a legal residency and work permits in the future.

The Paris Olympics will take place from July 26th to August 11th next year.
